“The visit to Texas State was great,” Andrew said. “It’s big and confusing, but everyone helps you where you need to go.”

“In a tech space filled with engineers, it can be intimidating,” Shelby said. “I want to do everything I can to show people these opportunities.”

“I took every opportunity that came my way,” Kathi said.

“It helped me get to know people on campus and be able to serve the SWT community.”

“I recognized I have to lead by example,” Arnold said. “So I started creating businesses.”

“Our bar is a college bar,” Henry Hogensen said. “We want to give back to the community that’s been so good to us.”

As we say farewell to Texas State President Denise Trauth, PhD., let’s take a look at the legacy she leaves behind. Dr. Trauth has spent the last twenty years serving Texas State and will be leaving in June 2022.

“I’m fighting for policies and issues that I care about,” Vanessa said

“You go to school and everyone congratulates you for that,” Kelsey said. “But I remember sitting in Bill Poston’s Housley class and he was the first person who called me out for it.”

In the words of Stelos founder Bill Poston, Lauren Darby is the strong moral compass behind his businesses. It all started in 2014 in the Housley Principled Leadership Seminar when Lauren took Bill’s class not once but twice.

“I was heavily involved in the culture of Texas State,” Craig said. “I enjoyed college to the fullest.”

“When you hear the research, you know we should be educating children differently. But a clear roadmap to actually implement it in a classroom doesn’t seem to exist yet. That’s what we are trying to change,” Alexis says.
