“I have a passion for making people happy,” Katelyn said.

“To me, mariachi is home, its family, it means so many different things,” Abby said.

“It was just me and my mom growing up,” Emil said. “When I told my mom that I got this scholarship, she was really happy.”

“I had a lot of blood, sweat and tears to graduate with my sales concentration and to get to the graduate school where I am now,” Nick said.

“Being a single mom has very much been a challenge for me financially,” Lauren Swiney said. “But if you put your mind to something, you’ll be able to do anything.”

“I’m really grateful for it because it’s given me the opportunity to go a prestigious school,” Emily said

“I want to be the type of person that people can depend on,” Kam Brown said.

I really wanted to be able to help others around me with their mental health,” Lyla said.

Maxine Ezenwa is the 2024 recipient of the Bill Hogue Memorial Scholarship.

“You're not a little fish in a big pond,” Aili said. “You're a person that actually can make a big impact at Texas State.”

Abby Clay is the 2023 recipient of the Lebens Fashion Merchandising Excellence Award.

Rhiannon Moss is the 2023 recipient of the Durrenberger Women in Science scholarship.
